Salty Cheese and Fresh Herb Cookies
150 grams of melted butter,
3 tablespoons plain yoghurt,
1 half teaspoon of salt,
1 sachet of baking powder,
300 grams of flour,
150 grams of feta white Turkish cheese,
1 or 2 handfuls of fresh herbs to choose from (I used parsley and dill),
golden sesame seeds and nigelle for the top.
in a bowl, add the melted butter, the plain yogurt, 1 egg and the white of the second (keep the yolk for the
gilding), mix well. Also crumble the cheese.
add salt, fresh herbs, baking powder and flour gradually.
mix thoroughly to incorporate but do not mix for too long, just until the dough is homogeneous.
butter a baking sheet, or place a sheet of baking paper. Form balls of dough the size of a nut and lay on the plate leaving a little space between each.
brown each small biscuit with the egg yolk and add seeds on top to decorate.
cook for about 25 to 30 minutes or until the biscuits are browned in a 180 ° preheated oven.
enjoy hot or cold, as you wish!
