Strawberry Shortcake

Ingredients :

1 stale bread roll (more than one day)
3 tablespoons sugar
1 sachet of vanilla sugar
1 egg
15 cl of milk
2 tablespoons oil
6 beautiful strawberries (or another fruit)

Preparation :

Cut the bread to width in pieces up to 1 cm thick.
Beat the egg. Add milk, vanilla sugar and 2 tablespoons sugar. Mix well.

Soak the pieces of stale bread for 15 min to 30 min. The soaking time depends on the hardness of the bread.
While the bread softened, wash and remove the strawberries. Cut a few according to the length and others according to the width.
As soon as the bread has softened, you can start cooking it.

To do this, heat a tablespoon of oil in a frying pan. Add some bread slices. Leave to brown 3 min. Turn and cook 2 to 3 min on the other side.

Remove the bread slices and place on absorbent paper just 1 min.

Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the pan and cook the remaining bread slices.

Sprinkle with a little sugar.
Place a few pieces of strawberries on top. Sprinkle again with a little sugar.
